Introduction to Integrations
Integrations let Panel pull People and Assets automatically from the external systems you already use.
What Integrations Do
Integrations let K12Panel connect to external systems and automatically import either Assets or People that are primarily managed in those systems. Instead of manually creating and maintaining records, you let the system that already owns the data feed K12Panel.
For example, your staff and students can appear in K12Panel automatically from Google Workspace or Microsoft Azure, and your iPads, Macs, Apple TVs, cameras, or network gear can flow in from an MDM or network controller.
Integrations Run Automatically
Once configured, integrations run on a recurring schedule on their own — you do not have to trigger them to keep K12Panel in sync. Most integrations also offer a manual trigger so you can force a refresh instead of waiting for the next scheduled run.
What Each Integration Imports
- People — Google Workspace and Microsoft Azure import your users (staff, students, volunteers) as People, along with your organizational unit (OU) hierarchy.
- Mobile and Apple devices — Jamf Pro, Jamf School, Mosyle, and Securly import iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs as Assets.
- Chromebooks — Google Workspace imports ChromeOS devices as Assets.
- Cameras — Verkada Command imports cameras as Assets (and can optionally provision access-control users).
- Network equipment — UniFi imports switches, access points, and other gear as Assets.
A Note on Windows Computers
Windows PCs are not added through an integration. You import Windows computers by installing the K12Panel Agent on them, which registers each machine on your On-Ramp for adoption.
Common Questions
Do I have to run integrations manually?
No. They run automatically on a schedule. A manual trigger is available if you don't want to wait.
How do I import Windows PCs?
Not through an integration - install the K12Panel Agent, which registers the PC on your On-Ramp.
Can I import iPads without an MDM?
You need a supported MDM (Jamf Pro, Jamf School, Mosyle, or Securly), or you can add them manually.
Will an integration delete devices removed from the source system?
Only if you enable that integration's Delete removed devices option.
