MosyleMDM Integration
Automatically import and sync iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs from Mosyle MDM into K12Panel for inventory, checkout, and budgeting.
Mosyle MDM Integration
Mosyle is a popular MDM for managing Apple devices. The Mosyle integration imports your iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs into K12Panel for inventory control, check-in/out, and budgeting.
Before you begin, go to Asset Classes and create the classes you want these devices mapped to — for example an iOS class for iPads, a Mac class for Macs, and a tvOS class for Apple TVs.
Step 1: Create an API Administrator in Mosyle
- Sign in to your Mosyle console (often myschool.mosyle.com).
- In the bottom navigation, select MySchool.
- Create a new administrator with a unique email such as panelapi@yourschool.org, and record that email.
- Edit the new user, reset its password, and record the password.
- Recommended: under the user’s permissions, choose “Limit user permissions,” create a role such as “API limited access only,” and grant that role integration access only.
Step 2: Authorize an API Token in Mosyle
- Still in MySchool, open Integrations.
- Add the Mosyle API Integration.
- Open it, generate a new token named “K12Panel,” and record the Access Token value.
Step 3: Configure K12Panel
- In K12Panel, open Available Integrations and click Configure on Mosyle MDM.
- Enter the Access Token, API User Email, and API User Password you recorded.
- Set the import options below, then save.
Keeping in Sync
The integration runs automatically on a schedule. You can also force a refresh at any time with the Trigger button on the active integration.
Common Questions
Which device types can I import?
iPads (iOS), Macs, and Apple TVs (tvOS).
Do I need to create Asset Classes first?
Recommended - create a class for each device type so imports map cleanly.
Will it delete devices removed from Mosyle?
Only if you enable Delete removed devices; they then move to Trash.
I already imported devices by CSV - will this duplicate them?
No, if you enable Merge manual assets when the serial number matches.
How often does it sync?
Automatically on a schedule; use Trigger to run it on demand.
