Asset Connectors
Define reusable Asset Connectors in Settings and assign them to Assets through Asset Groups.
Asset Connectors (Settings)
The Asset Connectors page in Settings is where you define explicit connectors that can be assigned to Assets through Asset Groups. Asset Connectors are URLs that let you click through from an Asset page to engage another tool related to that Asset. Examples include:
- Launch an RDP session from a PC Asset.
- Launch a VNC session from a PC Asset.
- Open a printer’s web page from a Printer Asset.
- Launch a PuTTY/SSH session to a switch from a Switch Asset.
- Launch a remote-control session over Splashtop, TeamViewer, RustDesk, or another supported tool.
How to Use Asset Connectors
- Define the Asset Connector here in Settings.
- Link it to one or more Asset Groups (the same way you link a Modifier to an Asset Group).
- Use it from an Asset that belongs to the linked group, via the Connect button.
The Connect button appears on an Asset only when that Asset has an Asset Connector available.
Common Questions
How do connectors get onto an Asset?
Define the connector here, then link it to an Asset Group the Asset belongs to.
Why don’t I see a Connect button?
The Asset has no connector available — link a connector to one of its Asset Groups.
Can one connector apply to many Assets?
Yes — link it to Asset Groups and it applies to every member.
Can connectors be generated dynamically instead?
Yes — a Modifier Report can emit a connector. See the Menu Functions Asset Connectors article.
