Asset Class Mapping

Similar to Manufacture Date mapping, you can set up rules to automatically apply Asset Classes to assets. This is a fast way to classify large numbers of assets, and it’s especially powerful alongside Integrations, where devices arrive automatically and need a class.

Create a New Mapping Rule

Build rules in the create section. You can have as many as you like. The first rule that matches an asset is applied.

Organize Existing Rules

• Reorder by dragging and dropping; because the first match wins, order matters.
• Save the reorder at the bottom of the list.
• Delete any rule that’s no longer useful — deletion is irreversible.

When is Asset Class mapping most useful?
When paired with Integrations, so imported devices are classified automatically.

What if multiple rules match?
The first matching rule (by order) is applied. Drag to reorder.

Can I undo deleting a rule?
