Jamf School MDM Integration

Automatically import and sync iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs from Jamf School MDM into K12Panel for inventory, checkout, and budgeting.

Jamf School MDM Integration

Jamf School is a popular MDM for managing Apple devices. The Jamf School integration imports your iPads, Macs, and Apple TVs into K12Panel for inventory control, check-in/out, and budgeting.

Jamf School and Jamf Pro are separate integrations. Jamf School authenticates with an API Key and Network ID; Jamf Pro uses a Client ID and Client Secret. If you use Jamf Pro, follow the Jamf Pro MDM Integration article instead.

Before you begin, go to Asset Classes and create the classes you want these devices mapped to — for example an iOS class for iPads, a Mac class for Macs, and a tvOS class for Apple TVs.

Step 1: Enable the API and Record the API URL

  • Sign in to your Jamf School console (often login.jamfschool.com).
  • Go to Organization → Settings and scroll to API.
  • Add a new API named “K12Panel” with Read access (you can uncheck all other permissions). Jamf generates the credentials.
  • Record the API Key and the API URL.

Step 2: Record the Network ID

  • Go to Devices → Enroll Devices.
  • Find the numeric portion of the MDM Server URL — that number is your Network ID. Record it.

Step 3: Configure K12Panel

  • In K12Panel, open Available Integrations and click Configure on Jamf School.
  • Enter the API URL, API Key, and Network ID you recorded.
  • Set the import options below, then save.

Keeping in Sync

The integration runs automatically on a schedule. You can also force a refresh at any time with the Trigger button on the active integration.
